Sir Anthony Berry

MP for Enfield Southgate from 1964-1984 (1925-1984). Berry was youngest son of welsh newspaper magnate Gomer Berry Ist Viscount Kelmsley, who co owned the Daily Telegraph, and as founder of the Kelmsley Group, a number of other leading titles including the Sunday Times.  Through his first marriage, Berry was an uncle to Diana, Princess of Wales. He was knighted in 1983 and was Deputy Chief Whip in Margaret Thatcher’s government when he was killed by the IRA in the Brighton Hotel bombing.
